My new custome Blythe Doll mini me project.
My first go at customising my new Blythe Doll. My first job was to sand the shine from her face, wash her hair and give her some lashes and makeup, oh and make her some clothes.
My Blythe wears a custome made boho cotton printed gypsy maxi skirt and boho sari top same fabric.
The plan was to turn her in to an exact mini me, tattoos and all. however given my knowledge of witch craft and magik and my capacity to be fairly dopey. I’ve decided having a what would essentially be a voodoo doll of my self knocking around waiting to get lost on a bus or fly of my bike in the road might not be the best idea. Anyway she’s arrived and I love her…
Blythe has vintage pillar box lushes red lips, and Twiggy style eyes.

2012 Year of The Dragon
misspybisedit
Today it’s Chinese animals I wanted to write to you about, in particular this years creature The Dragon.
Xx
Example of Chinese Dragon castume used in Chinese new year celebrations. Having been tattooing for about four years and family visits to Liverpool to see their chinese new year display and of corse being English dragons have always been about my creative sphere. However it was not untill a chance encounter with a 1909 out of print book I found online while I way on holiday that they really captured my imagination. The book was called ‘Japanese Fairy Tales’ by Yei Theodora Zoaki It was a simple story but the picture it painted was vivid and got me thinking about researching further for my creative projects.
Miss Pybis scribble dragon. So 2012 Year of The Dragon… The Chinese astrological Callander works on the five element principles that of metal, water, wood ,fire and earth. These element are what make up the world and us as humans, and Chinese medicine also asserts these elemental principals. Each must be in balance and each element has its own properties, related food, animal, parts of the body and personality traits, emotions and astrological map.
Beautiful tattooed example of the magical koi Carp, rising from the water represents it transformation in to dragon. This year of the dragon started on 4th of February 2012. The Dragon is a mystical creature of unpredictable nature people cannot see its head and tail at the same time. The Dragon holds the element of water with associations with wood which are about creativity and communication. A chinese astrologer would there for say the the dragon represents water of the sky and a dam also equating to perhaps a flood. In Japanese culture, the Koi carp is transformed in to the dragon, this represent spiritual and life transformation. We often see carp used to represent this in traditional tattoos of Japan. In cultures who revere The Dragon it may bring good fortune or great destruction and must be treated with respect. Look out for my Miss Pybis Dragon inspired art in the near future.

Inspired lunches,mums and French Vogue
My mum fresh back from Paris (to stay with the french theme) met with me today at our favourite french owned cafe "The Terrace"
at the beautiful world heritage site village Saltire. The food as always was amazing along with the coffee. With my mum relaying her wonderful tales of the boulevards of Paris and the red and white check table cloth, steamy coffe, french instrumental music muffled by the bustle of chater from the other dinners I almost felt like like I was Back in France myself. That was until my wonderful mum pulled out a copy of French vogue; and suddenly the dream was complete. You just can't beat lunch with your mum, especially when they're as wonderful as mine.

Good afternoon friends. Firstly can I apologise for my lack of updates. What with artist retreats to France and creative expeditions to Majorca and organising my residency for Berlin in Autumn, I’ve hardly had time to fit in my art and all my other projects.
While on in France along with my
fellow Christine Macualay of the http://thebigmacblog.com/, devised a project based upon a
micro project I completed while on our French retreat to create Human shrines
based upon making a seires of wearable shrines.
The collaboration stemmed from
my obsession with shrines and Christine’s love of flowers, glitter and all out
excess when it comes to the kitsch. I have stared collecting a multitude of wonderful items for this project like these amazing 2" worry dolls I found on line
and the world of glitter and sequins
so watch this space....and check out my pinterest too. http://pinterest.com/misspybis/human-shrine-project/
